Sample Return Vehicle (SRV)

This technology consists of a small vehicle that can be deployed from an ELV, Space Shuttle, or ISS and return to earth about 200 lbs of cargo. The patent-pending technology is being developed at MEI Technologies ’ Houston location. Capabilities include space-based (LEO/GEO) testing of components and return for analysis; return of experiments or materials samples or failed ISS orbital replaceable units on a more flexible schedule than reliance on Shuttle. MEI Technologies contributions to the product’s development to date have included concept definition, patent application, and preliminary design.
